"Musharraf is kinda sweet at times. He says his government will end corruption."

"What's so sweet about that! I think it's a bit thick coming from a guy who has been in power for more than five years."

"Oh I see what you mean. Well in any case I don't think he sees his term as starting from the time he took over power?"

"So when does he see his government starting. The time he made the Lotas sit in the assemblies again! Or the time he kicked out our luxuriantly moustached Jamali, or the time he appointed? Ooops sorry, chose Aziz to be the PM." "Don't be facetious. It won't get you anywhere."

"Sorry but really I think in five years he should have made some inroads into corruption and I don't think he has."

"He says the NAB has made inroads and that there is no corruption at the highest level."

"What is the highest level?"

"Am not quite sure but from where I am sitting everyone is at a higher level so don't think he meant that."

"I guess you should look at it from where Musharraf is sitting."

"In that case there is no one higher so maybe all he was saying was that he is not corrupt. That was politically astute."

"Maybe we can go one tier lower."

"I don't really know how to go one tier lower. This is why he must hold just one office. I mean do we go one tier down to the generals or do we go one tier down to the PM and his cabinet or do we go one tier down to the political party that props up the PM."

"Tough hunh!" "Extremely."

"That's the problem with a new and improved democracy."
